Bali enchanted Day 2 (part 2)

So this is a quick glimpse at what happened at the end of the day on Day 2 in Bali:

Our little group was supposed to end the day with a shopping spree at Ubud Market, 'the major centre of arts in Bali' as perceived in our itinerary. However, given the choice of being flexible, and knowing that we'll just get all hot and bothered passing by replicas of stores selling the same things and not really willing to make impulse art buys,  so...we made out way down to Kuta beach instead. With a purpose. Our whole trip actually came down to this. My brother, whose birthday was on that day, 14th Feb, wanted to do something crazy, some sort of rite-of-passage to mark his big 21st. Previously over the past few weeks, he had been making vlogs of himself doing twenty-one deeds or dares leading up to the 14th. If you go on youtube, you can see how busy he was doing just that. So in Bali, he wanted to come full circle, by...

...attempting bungee-jumping at the only place offered! That was, at the world-famous AJ Hackett company. Its parent company is in New Zealand (and all profits go to them). The price is about US$100+ for each person. For ONE WHOLE JUMP. Subsequent jumps are of course, US$35 as seen above. Also, we were at the very right moment that evening to catch the sunset and it would have looked stunning from way up there, I'm sure, but it was really cloudy all day and was even threatening to rain.So we were just thankful we could make it down at a relatively good time. Check out my bros strapping up:

^geez. haven't even started and someone's just about puking his guts out.

How about me you ask? Where am I?... ... I was ill remember? I was having hmm, let's see, a fever, migrane, and even chest pains. Now that's enough excitement for a day. I remember the last time I was down with fever was last year, again, while traveling, in the US Cali. Silly me even went to play at Universal Studios, and when we got back to the hotel room, I just collapsed on the bed with a freaking high fever (looking back, I suspect I really did have H1N1) and moaned the whole night, with my mum ensuring I always had a cold towel pressed to my forehead. I just stayed in the hotel for the next few days, only venturing out once or twice to attempt riding the bus to Venice beach and whatnot, but felt abnormally nauseous the whole way (we were going the wrong way! rode in the bus for close to an hour) and just gave up and turned back. Lesson learned. No way was I going to do anything as stupid again, especially as I was looking forward to hanging out at the beach AGAIN the next day in Bali to do something sporty (guess what guess what?). And I made sure to stay away from starchy carbo food cuz this time, I was nauseous to that.

While waiting for them to sign all the necessary forms and change into their AJ shirts, (I was rooting for them to wear like, a Superman or Spiderman costume hanging on a rack. I so would have worn one of those, you know?), I came across this wandering Decepticon hanging behind the building's backyard, and who scared the living shizz out of me :S Quite frankly, I didn't think any one of us were going to make it alive out that day:

^scared the daylights out of me, it did. run, lola, run!

In a few minutes, the boys too were fighting their own fears, albeit a very different one. Ready, set, go:

[One day...just see me do it in New Zealand itself. Off a major endless dam at that. It's definitely on my to-do-before-i-die list.]

What an awesome finish to the day you reckon?? Bravo my brothers. You guys are indeed made of strong stuff. I'm so proud of ya. RESPECT.

And here are a couple more pics to show what we were up to back in the hotel room:
